In the last couple of years Microsoft is publishing more and more information about the way they develop software. "Software development the way Microsoft does it". In 2006 IBL-Software BV decided to adopt this way by managing its development process based on the Microsoft Solutions Framework (MSF).

Skillful development

We have chosen the "Agile" template of MSF. This means that a system is delivered in "small" partial deliveries/iterations (3-4 weeks) and in that way show you, as a customer, quickly the results and immediately process feedback.

Stages

Each iteration cycle through the following tracks:

• Envision track
• Plan track
• Build track
• Stabilize track 
• Deploy track

Microsoft tools

Fortunately, Microsoft has gone further than just deliver a framework for software development (MSF), they also added the support of this framework in their development tools. By using Visual Studio Team edition in conjunction with Team Foundation Server it is possible to register and monitor the entire workflow, scheduling, and progress within a single system.
